A Fall Tea

The wonderful thing about having a tea is the time spent sipping tea, and eating sandwiches and sweets. An even more wonderful thing about a tea is the time spent with family and friends and the endless conservation around the table as you catch up on all the new happenings.

I started having teas about 12 years ago. It was after my husband and I returned from England where we had had afternoon tea at the Kensington Palace Orangery. It was such a great time and the setting was so relaxing that I just fell in love with teas. When we got back I started having teas with my sister and 3 of our nieces. My nieces still to this day call me to ask when we can have a tea.

The tea’s I have are simple and casual however I always try to make them a special occasion with a white table cloth, candles, a small bouquet of flowers from my yard, several pots of different types of teas, sweets from the bakery, and homemade tea sandwiches.

I recently had a Fall tea with my sister and 2 of our nieces to celebrate the Fall season. The table was decorated with pumpkin spice tea candles and a bouquet of mums from the yard and we enjoyed pumpkin tea cakes, apple pastries and chai tea among many other delicious treats. We all had so much fun the time together flew by. We are so blessed to be able to spend an afternoon this way with our nieces, doing something we all love doing and hearing about all the exciting things happening in their lives.

And even though I had the tea inside, the patio would have made a beautiful setting also.

I can’t wait for the next tea!
