Horseradish, Green Onion & Cream Cheese Spread

Now is that time of year when we all start looking for tasty food recipes for fall tailgating and the long upcoming holiday season. This cheese spread would be great for either. It gives a little something extra to a deli-type sub or sandwich, and, it’s a perfect cheese spread for crackers and little breads served on the holiday buffet.

This is an easy cream cheese spread recipe, and, being easy is a big plus when preparing for a big event. It has just the right blend of each ingredient, so that no one ingredient over powers the others.

Horseradish, Green Onion & Cream Cheese Spread

(Makes approx. 3/4 cup)

1 – 8 .oz package of cream cheese

2 1/3 tablespoons –  pure horseradish (not horseradish sauce)

2 tablespoons  –  green onion, sliced

1 teaspoon  –  brown spicy mustard

1/2 teaspoon  –  garlic powder

Place the block of cream cheese in a medium size bowl. Mash the cream cheese with a fork to break up the block.

Mix the horseradish, garlic powder, and brown spicy mustard together, and mix with the cream cheese with a fork.

When almost completely blended, add the green onion, and mix just until blended.

Garnish with more sliced green onions on top when serving as a spread for crackers and such on the buffet.

Sitting around the backyard fire pit this fall? This spread served on crackers makes a great little snack!

Serve chilled. Refrigerate any remaining spread.
