Don’t you just love those days when you get to take time out to have a treat? This float has summer written all over it, but it is a wonderful treat any time of the year!
Even the colors of this float are summery. This orange sherbet float recipe is very simple. Just two ingredients – sherbet and lemon-lime pop. We know that carbonated drinks have different names in different parts of the country, like soda, or soda pop, but for us, they are called ‘pop’.
Did you know there is an ‘art’ to making a float? Well maybe not an art, but one made just right is something to behold. So grab a tall glass, make yourself this refreshing summertime treat, and enjoy it out on the porch
Orange Sherbet Float
(Makes one serving)
3 scoops orange sherbet
1 can/bottle chilled Sprite or 7-Up
Place 3 big scoops of orange sherbet into a tall (about 12 .oz) clear glass.
Slowly pour the chilled Sprite or 7-Up over the sherbet, stopping when the frothy bubbles reach the top of the glass. Wait for it to recede a bit, and then slowly add more pop.
Using a clear glass makes for the best experience, because being able to see the orange of the sherbet surrounded by lemon-lime goodness with a frothy finish is part of the experience.
To complete the float, serve with a straw, and a long iced tea spoon. You don’t have to enjoy this treat outdoors, but you’ll be missing something if you don’t!
We hope you enjoy!
